About Us Gallery Post A Sketch Contact Us |

This is our story. Like many high school students I would, from time to time, doodle in class while paying only cursory attention to the teacher. I had remarked, on occasion, that I'd made enough doodles throughout my class notes to compile a published work. I never actually intended to do this, but I was quietly proud of some of my sketches. I surprised myself sometimes. For my first job, I was a lifeguard working summers at a swim and tennis club. One of the half-hour shifts through which each of us rotated was working at the front desk. This post saw excitement more on some days than others, and as you might imagine a bunch of high school and college lifeguards would do, we would sometimes draw doodles in Microsoft Paint (we had no internet connection). My doodling went into regression a bit during my college years, but recently I had some creative moments. Some complimented my artistic ability, and one day it occurred to me to create this website. So with unwavering support and encouragement from my amazing girlfriend, this has actually happened. I know that it's nothing unusual for a student to doodle in class, and it occurred to me that even those of us who may not be formally trained artists might want to show off our work. That's what I want this site to be -- a forum for those who want to share their classroom sketches (or work place sketches) with the world. Enjoy! -R. K. Walker |
